Environmentalists have slammed the proposal for over 60 kilometres of mountain bike tracks to be created in the Mt Canobolas State Conservation Area managed by National Parks.

The Draft Plan of Management leaves the door open for this major development that would cause erosion, reduce natural values and introduce major commercial operations in an area set aside for the common good and the protection of biodiversity.

Public comment is open until October 1, 2018.
